of course this comes as no surprise to those of us on this board- naturally, as we've informed ourselves.
however i felt it important to reveal the real dictionary definition of the word " generation " for newly exiting jehovah's witnesses so they can see for themselves how the wt society is twisting the real definition of this word to extend their faulty predictions of jesus prophecy about " this generation will by no means pass away.
so here is the actual definition of the word " generation " according to webster's newworld dictionary - .

hopefully this will get a good response because i love jokes, especially ones about the wt or jw's!.
ill start it off.. .
how do we know there are no female angels in heaven?.
In Moshe's joke, there are only two in heaven -- period.
the co is at my husbands hall this week so i tied in to the meeting he was going on and on about how there are 140 elders in the circuit and only 80 something ms's.
of the elders 25 are over 75 years old.
of the ms's it was about 20 are over 75 years old.
I can't resist.
completly ignore disfellowshipped children and never speak at all to them , also what about the children of the disfellowshipped children that are growing up unaware of the "truth " ?
im thinking of writing to my inlaws who have never bothered with our child for two and a half years to tell them to just walk on by if they see us as it would confuse her if they saw us and acted as though nothing has happened .
then they will be good jws and obediant to the watchtower and not blame us for not letting them see her which is what they lie and tell people !.
Imagine a family gathering where a child cannot participate in activities that his baptized cousins and other relatives are enjoying simply because they don't live within his household. It's possible.

i'm still amazed that the wtbts still don't allow women to wear pants to meetings etc.
is this a disfellowshipping offense?.

You mean if the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, got baptized -- she'd have to abandon her wardrobe when attending meetings or going out in service? The very wardrobe she wears when engaged in formal meetings with heads of state?
Hillary, you ought to be ashamed?

the federal public ministry at ceara, brazil, on july 14, 2011 filed a civil action against the religion of jehovah's witnesses in the 8th federal court for practicing religious discrimination against former members.
prosecutor nilce cunha rodrigues has taken on official representation of sebastian oliveira (ramos) who, after being expelled from the religion was discriminated against by colleagues, friends and relatives, including his mother, in accord with norms of the jehovahs witnesses who are headed by a governing body of the watchtower society.
"Prosecutor Nilce Cunha Rodrigues has taken on official representation of Sebastian Oliveira (Ramos) who, after being expelled from the religion was discriminated against by colleagues, friends and relatives, including his mother, in accord with norms of the Jehovah’s Witnesses ..."
I applaud the effort in Brazil, and while I wish it to be a worldwide effort, I can't see where it can be enforceable -- where there can be a real difference.
Picture, with me, the PO as he adjusts the microphone for his concluding announcements. "Effective today, Joseph Silva is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. As you know, brothers, we can no longer encourage you, nor will we instruct you to avoid association with, or shun Joseph Silva or ones like him. I repeat, we are, at this time, not doing this. We must obey Caesar's law. We simply wish to remind you that your Christian obligation is not to us but to Jehovah through his word, the Bible. We remind you that when you get to your homes that you check your Bibles and the following passages [cite scriptures here]. After you prayerfully consider those passages, we encourage you to follow your Christian consciences in your behavior with people, the likes of Joseph Silva."
Back to business as usual.

just a synopsis of this aspect of my story.
i hope others will join in and tell us how this modern marvel of communication affected your exit [or your investigation, or perhaps entrenching] from the organization.. we all have doubts at times.
mine were scattered over almost 5 decades, from the age of four when my mother accepted the religion.
Before I could say anything, my dear wife stated to me, "You don't have to THINK ABOUT it any longer. I have ordered them. I WANT to know what he has to say. You can read them or you can ignore them, whatever you want to do. I am reading them."
After reading that I couldn't hold back the tears despite the fact that I am a 71 year old man. You are both fortunate.

so, i'm back, and many of you wanted me to post the unfolding drama that is my life at the moment.. last week i came out and told my father that i was in the navy, and was going to be trying out for aviation search air rescue.
it's an extensive rate, and one that has a 40% failure rate among those who qualify.
so needless to say, i do nothing but run and swim.. anyways, the reaction was what i expected.
Assuming you've been baptized you be considered as having been disassociated -- not disfellowshipped. Well, that was in the olden days. Today they just announce you're no longer a JW.
Talk about cowardly, they put their tail tween their legs and say that you've made the decision, not them. That way Brookly can't be accused of sedition -- encouraging the avoidance of military service. Talk about fear of man, they take the cake.
Thanks for serving.

i received an email with the following information that is worth sharing.. the 2011 yearbook goes to great lengths to elevate the truthfulness of watchtower information in even minor details, and criticise information from other sources.
so it is telling that the 2010 "jehovah's witnesses - faith in action, part 1" has omitted an important element of their history when re-enacting the 1922 cedar point convention.. under the heading "tracing all things with accuracy" the 2011 yearbook states: .
"jesus said that the faithful slave would be discreet in giving the domestics "their food at the proper time.
Hey Gumby, glad to see you're back here.
Everyone is wearing hats in the video but not in the picture as far as I can see. That's a good observation, Slim. I wonder if it's also because they're standing -- perhaps for playing of the national anthem (see the raised arm of (perhaps) an orchestra leader in the front). Maybe they were standing for prayer in those days. Therefore, the hats were off in this particular shot.
At 71, I may be as old as Old Goat but certainly can't remember the days of the early 20's.
Hey, Old Goat, we may have crossed paths in the early days. It would be great to share notes with you. You see to still have plenty of passion in your belly. Me too. And take it easy on these young 'uns. They do plenty of attacking the major issues on this forum -- and they do a good job of it. Sure, there's plenty of fluff posts as well. I just don't think this is one of them. It may be just a little nail, agreed, but it sometimes takes a bunch of nails for building a good coffin.
